Rock, Ribs, and Ridges Festival
The Rock, Ribs, and Ridges Festival returns to the Sussex County Fairgrounds for a weekend blowout of smoked meats and smokin’ music. Revelers enjoy a live soundtrack from an all-star lineup of Southern rock giants, all while sipping craft beers and munching on mouth-watering barbecue from vendors like Texas Smoke BBQ, Pigtails, and Butch’s Smack Your Lips. Campers are welcome. Here are just a few of the musical highlights:
Saturday, June 24
- Charlie Daniels Band: Daniels has been crafting rock-tinged country tunes—including his massive hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”—on his rabble-rousing fiddle for more than 50 years..
- The Marshall Tucker Band: Founding singer Doug Gray and five other guys not named Marshall Tucker serenade Southern ramblers and lovelorn outlaws with favorites such as “Heard It in a Love Song” and “Fire on the Mountain.”
- Also Appearing: Farmer Phil Band | The Steppin’ Stones | The Kentucky Headhunters
Sunday, June 25
- Blackberry Smoke: these hard-charging rockers incorporate country, bluegrass, and gospel on songs including “Waiting for the Thunder” and “Like an Arrow”
- The Outlaws: The southern rockers behind “Green Grass & High Tides” and “(Ghost) Riders in the Sky” take the stage on the heels of a 2012 reunion, unleashing their signature assault of dual lead guitars, drum-tight three- and four-part harmonies, and a country-tinged rock feel.
- Also Appearing: Molly Hatchet | Stolen Rhodes
