Delve into a democratic tipple with this deal to the Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival at the Atlantic City Convention Center. For $30, you get one ticket on Friday, March 30, at 7 p.m. (up to a $61.75 value, including Ticketmaster fees).
Now in its seventh year, the Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival busts out a king’s ransom of delectable craft brews for guests to sip while taking in informative lectures and ear-tickling concerts. More than 80 brewers set up shop in the vast Atlantic City Convention Center, dispensing suds crafted by award-wining outfits from across North America such as Dogfish Head, Northern Coast, and Unibroue. The festival also plays host to European libations including Germnay’s Franziskaner Weissbier and Belgium’s Chimay, both of whose brews were transported stateside via foam-powered blimps.
An eclectic lineup of musical acts rattles glasses throughout the festival, with Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg taking the stage Friday night at 10:15 p.m. Helmed by the eponymous drummer from legendary punk group The Ramones with pal and former Misfit Michale Graves on vocals, Blitzkrieg blazes through a power-chorded set of caffeinated punk. Beforehand at 7:15 p.m., Muscle Shoals Revival loosens up guests with rootsy, danceable anthems and covers of classic rock legends such as The Rolling Stones and The Band.
Patrons can rest their eardrums by attending a seminars such as “Beer Camp for Women” (7:30 p.m.), hosted by Carolyn Smagalski. The renowned spirits writer and connoisseur will discuss her love of brews, touching on innovative food pairings and demystifying fine beers for those accustomed to getting drunk only on power. Award-winning writer Gary Monterosso hosts a talk on artisan beers at 9:45 p.m., and cook and comedian Rocky Fino teams up with chef Geoff Johnson for a series of demos on cooking with beer (7:45 p.m. and 10 p.m.)
