Second Annual Artists’ Studio Tour
For the second year in a row, The Alliance for the Arts grants one-on-one time with area artists in their natural habitats. From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., participants meet for a complimentary continental breakfast inside the main gallery before perusing studios in the Key West–style Edwards Building. Afterward, participants snag a map and head out on a self-guided tour of artists’ working spaces in Cape Coral, chatting with creators about upcoming projects or asking to see their muse-catching nets. Glass artist and teacher Petra Kaiser shares the techniques of her minimalist designs, which include light-catching pendants and vases. Elsewhere, Phil Krym displays award-winning pieces such as lamps, bowls, and fishing rods crafted from locally culled tropical wood. Guests can also marvel at Roseline Young’s fiber projects that incorporate weaving, quilting, and silk-dying. Visit the event website for a complete list of participating artists.
Following the tour, participants convene at the Cape Coral Arts Studio from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. for hors d’oeuvres and wine tastings as artists perform live demonstrations of clay work and silversmithing.
