The Scouting Report
As the exclamation mark to punctuate their third season, the wheeled warriors of Port City Roller Derby host Anchor Management, a doubleheader set to crash through Crisafulli Rink this Saturday. Port City’s Breakwall Bombshells headline the evening’s second bout, as they defend their home turf against the Dolly Rogers of Ottawa. Several weeks ago, these two teams met on Canadian soil in a cross-borders bout more intense than a tug-of-war across Niagara Falls. Before those two clubs meet again, though, Port City’s B-squad opens the evening with a bout against the Finger Lakes Lunachicks. No matter the outcome, each match ends up benefiting a good cause, since proceeds from the night go toward Suicide Awareness Voices of Education’s Stride to Save Lives event.

About Port City Roller Derby
The ladies of Port City Roller Derby don't discriminate—anyone with two skates, a helmet, and the courage to enter the rink is welcome to play. Founded in 2010, the league empowers women of all shapes, sizes, and ages to embrace their athleticism and build discipline and character. Much like a courtroom where the judge presides from a dunk tank, the league operates in a fun but professional manner, dispatching its travel team, the Breakwall Bombshells, to compete all across New York and neighboring states—and sometimes even in Canada. Port City also operates a juniors club, the Lagoon Squad, which offers recreational and competitive opportunities to skaters ages 10–17.
