Trace Adkins

It’s easy to find Trace Adkins. The burly baritone troubadour lives in ubiquity—singing on the radio, helping the Red Cross, thwarting Gary Busey on Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars, and fighting crime in comic-book form as Luke McBain. But no matter where he is, Trace never strays from his pure country sound. Throughout his nearly two-decade career, the ocean-deep voice that fueled hits such as “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” has left him with four Grammy nominations and five ACM and CMT awards each. In his unmistakable twang, Adkins’s songs speak to all aspects of working-class life, from rough and rowdy times on a pickup truck to heartfelt ballads sung to a pickup truck.

On stage, between staples such as “Gone Fishin’” and “Ladies Love Country Boys,” the troubadour shares songs from his 11th album Love Will…, which isn’t as saccharine sweet as the title might imply. “This is an album of love songs,” Trace told Taste of Country, “but in my book, ‘Hot Mama’ and ‘Honky Tonk Badonkadonk’ are love songs! So don’t start thinking these are all ‘I’ll love you ’til the end of time’ ballads…but yeah, we’ve got those, too.”<p>

About Arena Theatre

At Arena Theatre, nobody sits farther than 60 feet from the show. Most concertgoers who’ve squinted their ways through major concerts at other venues can attest that the in-the-round seating arrangement and revolving stage are causes for celebration. And the stars have noticed. Since the 1970s, the state-of-the-art venue has attracted a long list of legendary performers including Willie Nelson, Tom Jones, and Aretha Franklin. While their golden vocal chords ring through the stellar acoustics, fans sink into comfy seats, savor a flashy light system, and discard their unnecessary opera glasses.
