Disney’s The Little Mermaid
Disney’s The Little Mermaid splashed on screens in 1989 to become an instant classic. A spirited take on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale, the story follows a plucky redhead with a beautiful voice whose fascination with the world above the waves sets her apart from her family—and lands her head-over-fins in love with a human. Thanks to a conniving sea-witch and an English-speaking band of fish friends, she gets a shot with her handsome Prince, but it costs her the ability to speak. However, there’s more to the deal: if he doesn’t return her love in a hurry, she could lose a lot more. In the stage version, the iconic animated film comes to life in all its musical glory, featuring memorable tunes such as “Part of Your World” and “Under the Sea.” This will be the first professional premier in the Valley.
Legally Blonde The Musical
Based on the movie starring Reese Witherspoon, Legally Blonde weaves the bubbly tale of Elle Woods, a sorority president who follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law to rekindle their romance. The award-winning musical follows Elle’s defeats and triumphs as she struggles to succeed at law, discover self-respect outside a relationship, and finally find new love. Clever, fast-paced lyrics mix with upbeat tunes in songs such as “Omigod You Guys” and “Gay or European,” supported by rug-cutting numbers that enliven the show and disappoint kids who thought dance was a rebellion against their lawyer parents.

About Arizona Broadway Theatre
A Peoria fixture since 2004, Arizona Broadway Theatre combines performances with fine dining, a marriage that helped garner the title of Best Playhouse from PHOENIX magazine in 2010. Curtains open to a cast of talented performers, who were culled from auditions in New York and the Valley of the Sun, and have belted out Broadway staples such as Grease, Fiddler on the Roof, and Singin' in the Rain. Servers glide through the tiered theater hall prior to performances, peppering white tablecloths with platefuls of American fare. Previous show's menus have included such dishes as steak diane's sliced tenderloin paired with sautéed shallots and lyonnaise potatoes, which entertain patrons' stomachs without forcing them to eat the show's program.
