The concert was fantastic, however the experience with the purchase of the tickets was poor. Purchased 4 tickets at once yet the 4 seats were not together. 3 seats together & 1 seat was across in another section.

What You'll Get

Concerts are best enjoyed in the summer, since the sunshine lowers the risk that the bassist will see his own shadow and bring on six more weeks of Christmas carols. Relax into seasonal songs with this deal to see the Dukes of September Rhythm Revue, featuring Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald, and Boz Scaggs, at the Orpheum Theatre on Saturday, July 7, at 7:30 p.m. Choose between the following reserved seating options:

  • For $33, you get one ticket for seating in the upper balcony (up to a $65 value, including all fees).
  • For $54, you get one ticket for seating in the lower balcony (up to a $108.75 value, including all fees).<p>

The Dukes of September came together in 2010, but they’re as far from newcomers as it gets. As if a classic-rock fan’s record collection sprang to life, the supergroup draws on the talents of Michael McDonald, Donald Fagen, and Boz Scaggs. Aside from long and laurelled careers as a Doobie Brother, Steely Dan frontman, and solo songwriter, respectively, the trio has previously played together. As the New York Rock and Roll Soul Revue in the ’90s, they paid tribute to the sounds that shaped all three, from Etta James to Eddie Floyd.

After two decades, they’ve revived their revue of classic blue-eyed soul, jazz, R & B, and rock ‘n’ roll. “The idea was to play music that we all liked when we were kids—music that made us want to become musicians in the first place,” Fagen told Rolling Stone. They’ve also mixed in hits from their days sailing the airwaves of Top 40 radio, along with the occasional cut from contemporaries such as the Grateful Dead or The Band. Throughout it all, audiences can expect McDonald to come equipped with his unmistakable bearskin-rug bellow and ability to play piano underwater, Fagen to send his fingers scampering through jazz chords, and Scaggs to pour out his velvety croon.
