ASO Holiday Concerts
Christmas with the ASO (Sunday, December 13, at 3 p.m.)
Of all the things Conductor Robert Shaw accomplished for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, perhaps the most lasting was his establishment of its Annual Christmas show. For more than 40 years, the ASO has been telling the Greatest Story Ever Told—the story of Christmas—through the combined voice of 400 angelic singers and orchestral musicians.
Very Merry Holiday POPS! (Thursday, December 17, at 8 p.m.)
Artist-in-residence Morris Robinson plays a bass-voiced Rudolph to the reindeer of the All City High School Chorus, and seasonal standards come alive through Broadway veteran Capathia Jenkins. Also, depending on how many audience members are on the Nice List, the evening just might conclude with a special visit from Saint Nick himself.
