• Sheryl Underwood: After gaining attention as the first female finalist of 1989’s Miller Lite Comedy Search, Underwood went on to win BET’s “Funniest Female Comedian on Comic View” award, later hosted the show, and in 2011, joined the table on The Talk.
• Arnez J: This charismatic Hotlanta comic, whose on-stage physicality has drawn comparisons to Jim Carrey, hosted two seasons of BET’s ComicView and has been seen on Def Comedy Jam and his own special, Arnez J.: Racially Motivated, which is now available on Netflix.
• Gary Owen: The co-host of TruTV’s Upload_has also been seen in on Showtime, BET, and Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, as well as on the big screen in _Ride Along and Think Like a Man.
• Joe Clair: Host of Rap City who has performed on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, Comedy Central’s Comic Groove, and STARZ’ Martin Lawrence Presents: 1st Amendment Stand-Up
• Tony Rock: Funny runs in the family, as the younger brother to Chris Rock certainly holds in own in the comedy arena. The host of Russell Simmons’ All Def Comedy Live and Apollo Live has also co-headlined two nationwide comedy tours: The Standing Ovation Comedy Tour and his own Rock The Mic Comedy Tour.

• Mike Epps: Seen in blockbusters such as Next Friday and All About the Benjamins, Epp’s wide-ranging standup sets frequently discuss race relations, celebrity peers, and American politics
• Rickey Smiley: Comic View host, The Late Show with Craig Ferguson guest, and nationally syndicated radio host and prank-caller Rickey Smiley specializes in physical comedy and broad characterization
• Bruce Bruce: This funnyman caught the eye of BET’s Coast to Coast comedy showcase when the then-chef unsheathed the jokes he’d been serving up with his barbecue. Since then, he’s landed spots on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam and Showtime at the Apollo, as well as a two-year stint hosting BET’s ComicView.
• Jay Pharoah: After getting his start in comedy clubs at the age of 15, Jay gained mass attention for a YouTube video showcasing his spot-on impersonation of Barack Obama. In 2010 he became the breakout player of the 36th season of Saturday Night Live with his effortless portrayals of Denzel, Jay-Z, Will Smith, and Lil’ Wayne.
• Buckwild: The Philadelphia-raised comedian has appeared at the Laff House comedy club and on Comic View and draws his inspiration from comedians like Martin Lawrence, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, and Bernie Mac.
