What You'll Get
Live music is a huge improvement on canned music, which takes up valuable pantry space and often spoils into noxious free jazz. Keep it fresh with this deal to see “Back to Bach”, featuring Udi Bar-David of the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Miami Conservatory of Music. For $10, you get one general-admission ticket for Sunday, March 10, at 4 p.m. (up to a $20 value).
As part of a two-day celebration of the German master, “Back to Bach” casts renowned soloist and Philadelphia Orchestra cellist Udi Bar-David at the center of a two-hour program of beautiful Baroque melodies. The varied musical lineup includes a suite, a piano and cello sonata, a duo with violin, and extensive improvisation by Bar-David, paying tribute to Bach’s storied ability to extemporize in concert. After the concert, a reception will give fans the opportunity to meet with the Israel-born cellist and ask him questions about his musically driven world travels or how many gallons of milk a cello can hold.
