Several nights a week, the club schedules sets by stars pulled onto the stage fresh from appearances in blockbuster comedies and hit TV shows. The praises of Chicago-bred young comic Hannibal Buress, appearing from November 17-19, have been sung by such luminaries as Chris Rock and Craig Ferguson, whereas Gary Valentine, appearing from December 1-3, will swagger up to the mic propelled by his long-running role on King of Queens. Additionally, 98Rock morning-show host Mickey Cucchiella will tickle funny bones from December 29-30. Tucked within the Power Plant Live complex, the club’s expansive new location finds room for comfy table seating, a beach-themed bar pouring sodas and cocktails, and an ample supply of super-sized prop sunglasses.
