The Music

  • Pimps of Joytime: These festival-circuit favorites seen at Bonnaroo, High Sierra, Outside Lands, and the Wakarusa get audiences sweating to their mix of soul, funk, afrobeat, Latin, reggae, and rock.
  • RDGLDGRN: Pronounced "Red, Gold, Green," this DC group's ambitious collages of simmering pop hooks, go-go rhythms, and hip-hop breakdowns blew up YouTube with the hit “I Love Lamp” and the aptly named “Million Fans.”
  • Soul Khan: This Brooklyn-based MC, YouTube star, and member of the Brown Bag Allstars hip-hop collective slathers his witty rhymes in pop-culture references and infectious beats; his skills landed him on Allhiphop.com's list of Top 50 Underground Hip Hop Artists of 2012.
  • Styles&Complete. The Charlotte-based DJ duo that has worked with artists including the Yin Yang Twins combine their skills to create beats and mashups that combine EDM with Dirty South Hip-Hop.

Everything Else

  • The Dance Experience: A trio of DJs simultaneously spin for the silent disco stage, letting listeners choose their favorite through their glowing headsets.
  • The Drink Rules: Festivalgoers can bring drinks in any can, plastic container, or aluminum container; glass bottles are not allowed and paper bags full of water probably won't work.
  • The Cause: Proceeds benefit local charities, including Headbands of Hope, Davidson Fire Department, and Cannon School; the festival has donated more than $30,000 in years past.
