Bill Engvall

Many a great joke has been told by simply pointing out the absurd—a technique that Bill Engvall has mastered. The actor and comedian’s signature bit, “Here’s Your Sign,” is founded on the simple premise that those who ask stupid questions should come with warning labels. On his first platinum-certified comedy album, also called Here’s Your Sign, Engvall imagines a world in which this might happen, to insightful, hilarious results.

One of the stars of the Blue Collar Comedy tour and the WB’s Blue Collar TV, Engvall has also brought his wry style to films, comedy albums, and game shows. For three seasons, he starred in and produced the appropriately-titled Bill Engvall Show, then loaned his voice to the cleverly named character of “Bill” on CMT’s animated series Bounty Hunters. But he’s played characters not named Bill as well: 2015 saw him showing off his dramatic chops in Catching Faith, and he fought to survive one of the greatest fictional disasters known to man in Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!.

Akron Civic Theatre

The medieval carvings, European antiques, and Italian alabaster sculptures at the Akron Civic Theatre absorb the ascending harmonies of symphony concerts and heavy rock ‘n’ roll alike. Built in 1929 to resemble a Moorish castle, the venue has maintained much of its historic charm, including the exceedingly rare atmospheric ceiling, in which stars twinkle and clouds float by as mesmerizingly as the last few corn flakes atop a bowl of milk.

Customer Reviews

Fabulous show. Full of energy. A trip down memory lane

AMAZING! Sarah Chang was extremely impressive. I've never seen someone memorize a piece of music that long. I know she played for at least 30 minutes straight without looking at a sheet of music. Absolutely fantastic! Would definitely go again. The rest of the orchestra was wonderful as well. Highly trained musicians, wide range of pieces.
