What You'll Get
Commuting via sailboat has a number of advantages: there are no traffic jams, there are no hitchhikers with hooks for teeth, and if you hit a deer it’s definitely the deer’s fault. Get a look at some swift transports with today’s deal to the Lake Union Boats Afloat Show, which takes place at Chandler’s Cove September 14–18. Choose between two options:
- For $6, you get one adult ticket (a $12 value), plus one free hot dog from Kaysala Hotdogs.
- For $9, you get one three-day pass (an $18 value).<p>
At the Lake Union Boats Afloat Show, nearly 200 new and previously owned sailing and powerboats from more than 60 brands stretch along 25,000 square feet of floating dock. During the show, aquasplorers can board vessels from makers such as Westport, Bayliner, and MasterCraft to tour cabins, kick anchors, and sniff sails. Boats of note at this year’s show include the sleek Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 379 sailboat and the IS 48, a yacht with a tailgate transom design and an interior of native hardwoods and contemporary furnishings.
Back ashore, roughly 40 exhibitors showcase the latest in marine electronics and equipment, and numerous boat brokerages are on hand to answer any questions and guess the weight of visitors’ lifejackets. On Saturday and Sunday, children from ages 8 to 16 can embark on a free 90-minute sailing lesson, and guests of any age can get a taste of the open water during the free sailing rides that take place every day of the show. For those who purchase the one-day pass, the voucher for the free hot dog will be given upon entering the gate.
