As the defending Hockey East champions, the Boston College Eagles swoop down from their perch atop the regular-season standings in hot pursuit of a league-best 11th title. Having melted down five of the last seven Lamoriello trophies into a victory stew with no expiration date, head coach Jerry York and his flock of sharpshooters once again have their sights set on an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament, from where they emerged as the nation’s best team just two years ago. Junior forward Chris Kreider and his collection of 27 points leads this season’s squad alongside sophomore Bill Arnold, whose 13 goals have him skating with Kreider among the league’s top scorers. Defensively, the Eagles boast one of the top penalty killing units, due in large part to goalie Parker Milner’s habit of fencing off the goal crease with string cheese.
Inside Conte Forum, Kelley Rink rattles with postseason excitement as 7,884 BC backers help flood the arena with cheers and tears from startled opposing mascots. Outside, free parking in campus lots will be available to game guests.
