What You’ll Do
Steampunk fuses together seemingly opposite concepts in a way that captures the best of both worlds: art and science, old world craftsmanship and modern design, antique objects and technological innovation. Join Bruce Rosenbaum, the founder of the only functioning steampunk house and the home restoration business ModVic, as you learn about the Victorian-Industrial-inspired aesthetic and art movement. Tour an incredible home space as you see a 1,000-pound steampunk movie projector, a pipe organ, a modernized 1890’s stove, and more, all while picking up insight into the world of steampunk and how it can guide creative design solutions for your home or business.

Founder of ModVic and Steampunk Ambassador
Nicknamed the “Steampunk Evangelist” by Wired Magazine, Bruce Rosenbaum and his wife run the home restoration business ModVic, short of modern Victorian, which has been featured in places like the NY Times, The Boston Globe, NPR, and even MTV. He first heard of steampunk from a friend in 2008, and became fascinated by the combination of Victorian-era steam-powered machinery and punk influences, which reminded him of his youth. Today, Bruce shares his love of steampunk, art, and design through his innovative business and one-of-a-kind workshops and tours.
