The Edmonton EXPO Centre rumbles beneath the hooves of collegiate competition as budding rodeo stars buck, ride, and wrestle in their pursuit of national glory. Throughout the three-day series, contestants will battle while representing the student-run Canadian Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, which encourages young students prone to lassoing professors to take up rodeo as an extracurricular activity. Six major events kick up dirt each night, including steer wrestling, barrel racing, and bull riding, along with rounds of team roping, goat tying, and pole bending, broken up by a 10-minute intermission halfway through.
Rodeo-goers can also take advantage of complimentary admission to the Northlands Farm and Ranch Show, where more than 400 agriculture exhibits unite to share ideas and unveil industry breakthroughs.
