CFD vs. Clemson Tigers
It goes without saying: members of the Charleston Fire Department can handle the heat. This Sunday, though, the department's hockey team will face a different kind of heat—albeit under much cooler circumstances—when it clashes with the Clemson Tigers in a showdown for charity.
During the match-up, both teams will skate for state pride atop the neutral surface of the Carolina Ice Palace. Though it's been more than two months since their last game, the Tigers enter the game with momentum on their side. They captured their second-straight ACC Challenge Tournament championship in early February, capping off an undefeated second semester. Once the final buzzer sounds and all the pucks have been returned to their Olympic curling incubators, the two sides will shake hands and head to a party at Wild Wing Cafe, where everyone is invited to celebrate with live music and drink specials.
