Under the leadership of head coach Pokey Chatman—whose coaching tenure at LSU included three straight Final Four berths—the 2012 Chicago Sky may well post the best season in franchise history as they vie against the Connecticut Sun for the top spot in the league's Eastern Conference. The young squad hits the court spearheaded by 2011 All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year Sylvia Fowles, who last year became the WNBA's second player ever to average a double-double over the course of a season and led the league in field-goal percentage, blocks, and double-knotted shoelaces. Fresh off a rookie season in which she joined Fowles on the Eastern Conference All-Star team, point guard Courtney Vandersloot anchors an explosive backcourt along with Epiphanny Prince, a chronic pest to opponents who averages more than 22 points per game. Throughout every game, the Sky Drumline echoes dribbling balls with rattling snares and pounding bass drums as fans interact with the team mascot, Sky Guy, whose fondness for basketball is surpassed only by his love of clouds that look like popcorn.

After the game on July 1, preacher-turned-gospel-sensation Marvin Sapp fills Allstate Arena with the soulful sounds from his latest album, Here I Am. The singer's back catalog includes hits such as the 2007 platinum wonder, "Never Would Have Made It," which grabbed hold of the top spot on the Billboard gospel chart and refused to let go for more than a year.

Chicago Sky

The 'K' of the Chicago Sky's logo towers above the other letters, two thin prongs poking out from the top—a nod to the most famous of the city's iconic buildings. Fittingly inspired by the Chicago skyline, the Sky's uniforms have represented the Windy City since 2005. In those years, some of the WNBA's top players have donned the blue and yellow threads, including 2015 MVP winner Elena Delle Donne, back-to-back Sixth Woman of the Year Allie Quigley, and seven-time All-Star Cappie Pondexter. The squad is currently led by Pokey Chatman, who enters her sixth season as the team’s head coach and GM.

Chicago Sky is also committed to inspiring future generations by showing some of the best female athletes in the world, delivering high-quality and affordable family entertainment through positive role models who lead both on and off the basketball court, while giving back to the Chicagoland community.
