The Scouting Report

At this point last year, most WNBA fans knew the second overall pick Elena Delle Donne would be a good player. But Delle Donne exceeded all expectations, capturing the attention of fans across the country with a historic rookie campaign. In fact, she received more votes for the All-Star game than any other player or hot dog vendor—the first rookie in WNBA history to ever hold such sway in the ballot. Behind her strong play, the Sky earned the top seed in the Eastern Conference, but failed to advance beyond the first round of the playoffs.

In nine games this season, Delle Donne has proven that her rookie campaign was far from a fluke. She’s the second-leading scorer in the entire league, and her shooting numbers—45% from the field and a league-best 96.4% from the free-throw line—show just how efficiently she scores. The Sky will look for her leadership to make a run in the postseason this year, but they still have their hands full in the regular season.

Chicago Sky

The 'K' of the Chicago Sky's logo towers above the other letters, two thin prongs poking out from the top—a nod to the most famous of the city's iconic buildings. Fittingly inspired by the Chicago skyline, the Sky's uniforms have represented the Windy City since 2005. In those years, some of the WNBA's top players have donned the blue and yellow threads, including 2015 MVP winner Elena Delle Donne, back-to-back Sixth Woman of the Year Allie Quigley, and seven-time All-Star Cappie Pondexter. The squad is currently led by Pokey Chatman, who enters her sixth season as the team’s head coach and GM.

Chicago Sky is also committed to inspiring future generations by showing some of the best female athletes in the world, delivering high-quality and affordable family entertainment through positive role models who lead both on and off the basketball court, while giving back to the Chicagoland community.
