The Scouting Report
Chasing a third playoff appearance in four years, the Wolves host a pair of divisional clashes at Allstate Arena in January and February. The Lake Erie Monsters visit on January 16. Although the Monsters notched two wins against the Wolves in December, earlier matches this season saw Chicago pound Lake Erie 4-0 and 7-2 on back-to-back nights. On February 11, the Wolves face the Milwaukee Admirals, stout rivals who have split the season series 2-2-2-0, indicating that they would probably be willing to split pizzas after the game.
Since their inception in 1994, the Chicago Wolves have never had a losing season. They took home the Turner Cup twice before the IHL folded, and since joining the AHL in the 2001–02 season, they have claimed the Calder Cup twice as well. As the team seeks to out-shoot opponents on the ice at Rosemont’s Allstate Arena, lupine mascot Skates prowls the stadium to hand out high-fives, sign autographs, and lecture crowd members on the hazardous properties of silver.
