What You'll Do
When placed in inspired hands, colorful panes of glass can form uniquely beautiful works of art. In this workshop, you'll learn to score, break, and frame glass into vibrant, translucent mosaics. The class includes all necessary tools and supplies required to craft a small but vibrant glass mosaic. Mosaic artist Christine Slocomb walks you through each step of the way, including optional grouting. Participants are encouraged to bring in their own small charms or jewels they wish to incorporate into their piece, which they take home at the end of the session.

As a teenager, Christine Slocomb accompanied her mother to a storeroom full of glass mosaic tiles, and found herself drawn to the twinkly parcels of color. Her infatuation lay dormant until years later, when she studied Byzantine mosaicists and began imitating their glass art. A true autodidact, she has gone on to create mosaic sinks and murals that have been displayed in showrooms in Atlanta and throughout the Southeast.
