Curious George
You may know about adorable monkey George’s famed inquisitiveness, but how about his love for meatballs? In a new musical, the beloved character puts his mischievous ways to good use to help his friend Chef Pisghetti, whose savory orbs were once the hit of Meatball Day. This year, however, sinister inventor Phinneas T. Lightspeed’s Meatballs O’Matic machine is drawing his customers away. So George sets off to Rome, trying to save the day by entering the chef’s specialty in the city’s Golden Meatball Contest.
Charlotte’s Web
Charlotte would be a remarkable spider, even if she weren’t also a remarkable speller. To save Wilbur, her pig friend, from becoming pork chops, she stages her own little miracle by writing messages such as “Some Pig” in the web above Wilbur’s pen. A smart-mouthed rat and faithful little human friend round out the cast. E.B. White’s celebrated story comes to life in Joseph Robinette’s faithful adaptation, with incidental music to set the pastoral scene.
