For 29 years, Cobb’s Comedy Club has lobbed laugh bombs toward Bay Area residents while launching the careers of stars such as Robin Williams, Margaret Cho, Patton Oswalt, and Arj Barker. The producer of Showtime-featured Slanted Comedy, Edwin San Juan, regales audiences with sly observational humor about growing up Filipino in America, embellishing anecdotes with hilariously off-color wordplay. San Francisco-based Frankie Quinones, the founder of local troupe For the People Comedy, mixes musical parodies with impersonations of eclectic characters from his own life, busting guts with spot-on voices and mannerisms. Sam Bam, Ricky Del Rosario, and Aida Rodriquez round out the evening, showing off skills honed on BET, HBO, and USO tours. The 400-seat venue’s cabaret-style seating forms a cozy orchestra pit for symphonies of snickers, fusing the ambiance of old-time San Francisco with the energetic vibe of the city’s modern nightlife and the hermeneutic complexities of the city’s postmodern nightlife.

Customer Reviews

Needs better ventilation and a better system to get in.
Teesta K. · April 1, 2012
The show was great for the price we paid! I love the diversity of the comedians, all the openers were really funny. Dat was great! He seem a bit tired, probably do since this is his 6th show this weekend. But never the less he delivered, even with a slight cold. Cobb was nice and clean. Our waiter was nice and did his job. Overall we had a great time.
