Females in Comedy Association hosts this charity basketball jam featuring rising stars in the Los Angeles arts scene. The roster includes actor Thai Edwards, seen in Shameless and CSI, radio personality Speedy, Kellita Smith–”Wanda” on The Bernie Mac Show, Jensen Atwood from Noah’s Arc, Brian Hooks from Eve and Laughing to the Bank, and surprise guests who may make you reach for your best autograph quill. R&B singer Miki Howard takes the court for the halftime show, performing her new single “Panther.” The festivities are for a good cause—a portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit A Nickel of Hope, Inc., an organization mentoring at-risk young women.
