Chinese dumplings are edible treasure chests—thin dough shells encasing minced meat and chopped veggies. During a BYOB lesson, Chef Connie Sun helps you unlock the secrets behind making two traditional styles of these gems. Following her guidance, you'll gain all the necessary techniques and tips before grabbing a pair of chopsticks and feasting on your creations.

  • Make Chinese Dumplings and Spring Rolls
    Chef Connie Sun demonstrates step-by-step how to hand-make two varieties of traditional Chinese dumpling—one with a spicy filling and a milder variation—as well as dessert spring rolls.

  • Learn to Use Chopsticks
    Chef Sun teaches you the proper way to hold and use chopsticks.

  • BYOB
    Participants may bring wine or beer to enjoy with their lesson.

As soon as Connie Sun could hold a pair of chopsticks, the young foodie was in the kitchen learning traditional Chinese cooking techniques from her grandparents—both of whom were chefs. Later, after earning a culinary-arts degree and mastering the art of dumpling making, she found her friends constantly begging for these Chinese staples. Realizing she was on to something, Chef Sun opened her own catering company and brought her spicy and non-spicy dumplings to a wider audience.
