The Scouting Report
With NCAA basketball back in full swing, the Duquesne Dukes turn to a pair of junior guards as Atlantic 10 Conference foes storm CONSOL Energy Center. After posting one of the school’s all-time-best freshman performances two seasons ago, Derrick Colter once again leads the Dukes offense with 12 points per game. He’s had some scoring help, too, in the form of Jordan Stevens, who has stayed nearly even with Colter by baking every ball from scratch before Colter sinks it. Later this season, the team’s talented backcourt will have to be especially effective against Virginia Commonwealth and Dayton—two of the conference’s better teams in recent years.
CONSOL Energy Center
Guests feast their eyes on the impressive athleticism on display at CONSOL Energy Center, home to the NHL’s Penguins, arena football’s Power, and countless other events. Two LED rings circumscribe the seating bowl, and 800 high-definition televisions of varying sizes pepper the building, ensuring attendees don’t miss a single slam-dunk, slap shot, or black eye. Comfy seating cushions rapt fans, boasting widths of up to 24 inches to accommodate wild, celebratory gyrations and pockets filled with packing peanuts.
