The Scouting Report
For the final two times this season, drivers kick up dirt at Cotton Bowl Speedway in pursuit of points, pride, and cash prizes. On November 16, the last points race of 2013 caps off a year of competition that began back in February, when most racecars hatched from their shells. The evening will showcase competitors from a number of divisions, including modified, limited modified, and street stock. <p>
A week later, the Speedway stirs back to life for the second-annual Showdown. Features throughout the night keep the track at a constant buzz, culminating with the main event: a battle between sprint cars, which often exceed speeds of well over 100 miles-per-hour. With races scheduled late into the evening, the Showdown provides fans one last chance to soak up excess horsepower before the Speedway packs up its track and ships it off to the dry-cleaners during the offseason.
