About Alligator Sanctuary
Alligator Sanctuary has filled its huge, outdoor enclosures with dozens of living fossils. Gators from private owners, public institutions, and rescue services all find a forever home at Alligator Sanctuary, where they are broken up by age and size.
Younger gators may start off at the Elementary swamp and move up to larger and larger habitats as they grow. To see the sanctuary's largest guests, head over to Godzilla's Swamp, where the 30-year-old 10-foot-long Godzilla reigns supreme over his brood of mega-size reptiles. Visitors should keep their eyes open for turtles, tortoises, and even a few bearded lizards, which can also be found soaking up some sun.
And students young and old can learn even more about the natural world as they explore the sanctuary's Jungle of the Amazon greenhouse and the covered nursery for gators still too young and vulnerable to play in the outdoor swamps.
