What You'll Do
Painting on someone's skin is a great ice breaker. At least, that's what guests discover when they enter Cu 29 Copper, pick up brushes, and create one-of-a-kind designs on each other's skin. Danny Setiawan, the founder of DenArt NY studio, guides the experience, and he demonstrates how to paint everything from simple flowers to tattoo-like designs.
Early birds get to sip complimentary champagne and nibble hors d'oeuvres.
Musicians play jazz as attendees mingle and paint designs on each other's skin. Paints and brushes are provided.
Fly Solo or Come with Friends
Those who come together can paint each other, but solo guests shouldn't fear—they'll be paired up with another student as their painter/canvas.
Nudity Fine, but Not Required
While some guests prefer to be topless for body painting, you can opt to wear a backless shirt and have a design painted onto your back.
Leave with $50 toward body-painting services at DenArt studio.
Professional photographers shoot the party; check the DenArt NY website for photos after the event.
Master Painter, Cofounder of DenArt studio
Danny Setiawan wanted to make an impact with his art, so he tossed aside the traditional canvas and turned to another medium: the human body. This shift to body painting certainly paid off; Danny has made numerous television appearances, worked for clients like Roberto Cavalli and Kings of Leon, and even won the Unique Art Award from the Society of Unique Artists in 2011. He also runs DenArt studio, a body-painting and photography studio open to the general public.
