DJ Pauly D
Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, one of the breakout stars of MTV’s volcanic hit Jersey Shore and its spinoff, The Pauly D Project, never blinks in his staring contest with the public eye. Some people don’t know how to handle sudden fame. Pauly D could teach a master class.
One of the many highlights of Pauly’s TV shows is watching the charismatic lothario walk into a club. Flashing his devilish smile, strutting with a swagger that can’t be taught, and beaming with devotion to booming bass and flashing lights, he immediately owns the room. Although casual fans know his witticisms by heart, including the acronymic regimen of GTL (Gym, Tan, Laundry) and his repeated proclamation of “Cabs are here!”, Pauly D communicates best behind his headphones, laptop, wax stacks, and mixers. He isn’t just a TV star, he’s a DJ—and a very good one at that.
Named one of the “top 6 DJs who rocked 2011” by Vibe, Pauly D has been perfecting his party-instigating dance-music skills since he was 16. Now, with his music career at the forefront, he brings his skills to Electric Factory for a night certain to rattle crowds and shake stage lights. Pauly D sports a music library that charters the bottomless annals of club music, keeping ears on their toes with a mélange of tubthumping tracks. Expect the gregarious showman to exercise his rapier wit and invent new catchphrases as he raises the bar for disc jockeys, and then does 100 pull-ups on it.
Sands Bethlehem Event Center
Sands Bethlehem Event Center was constructed only in 2011, and its striking charcoal-colored box still has the sheen of a piece of just-released technology. The space was designed so that no seat would be more than 137 feet or 20 Shaquille O’Neals away from the stage. Despite the intimate feel, the venue is large enough to support no-holds-barred audiovisual displays, and it regularly welcomes spectacle-loving national acts in a variety of genres.<p>
