Downtown Festival

  • Kiesza: The singer/songwriter/ballerina/former Miss Universe Canada contestant/member of the Royal Canadian Navy found her calling as a dance music artist with the smash hit “Hideaway,” which effortlessly blends modern house and EDM with infectious ’90s dance pop.
  • Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks: “A group of three hippies on a road trip through the backwaters of 2013’s rural music scene fall prey to a murderous cannibalistic band.” That’s how Animal Collective’s Avey Tare describes his new project, a trio also featuring Dirty Projectors’ Angel Deradoorian and Ponytail’s Jeremy Hyman.
  • Autre Ne Veut: if Aphex Twin grew up on Marvin Gaye, the resulting sound might resemble the work of this R&B/electro-pop hybrid artist.
  • Atlas Sound: Bradford Cox steps out from his role leading the popular indie act Deerhunter to explore new dimensions in experimental pop.
  • Tobacco: Thomas Fec, best known as the frontman of Black Moth Super Rainbow, goes solo to perform dark and dense psychedelic funk freakouts composed with analog synths and tape machines.
  • Also Appearing: Jungle | Vacationer | Iamsu! | Zebra Katz | Mas Ysa | Tink | Saint Pepsi | Computer Magic
