El DeBarge

Flanked by his siblings in the ’80s R&B group DeBarge, El ensnared hearts with a shimmering falsetto and passionate voice. After the group split, he struggled with addiction and disappointing record sales for years before bursting back on the scene with 2010’s Second Chance. Humbled by his experiences, DeBarge has lost none of his poignant vocal powers, imbuing his soaring songs with hard-earned feeling and wicked spoilers.

Bal Theatre

Since it opened in 1946, the 800-seat Bal Theatre has continually hosted a wide array of film screenings, comedy shows, and musical acts on its stage, remaining one of the few American theatres of its era never to have shut down. Despite the building’s vintage art-deco vibe, the theater boasts a concert-series sound system, digital projection, and three-dimensional seats, immersing audiences in a heightened sensory experience.
