What You’ll Do
Food preparation is as much an art as a science, but this two-hour competition focuses on the creative side as competitors are given pre-cooked patties to dress up with their own assortments of toppings and sauces. Throughout the event, Joy Burger Bar’s head chef gives tips on how to construct a great flavor profile for your burger. By the end of the evening, one competitor’s burger will be selected as Joy’s next Burger of the Month.
6:30 p.m. – Enjoy a Meal
Before the contest begins, each contestant sits down to enjoy an included burger, fries, and soft drink.
6:45 p.m. – Meet the Head Chef
Joy Burger Bar’s head chef gives you a rundown on what makes a great burger.
7:15 p.m. – Experiment with Your Own Burgers
While receiving advice from the judges, you’ll practice making your own special burger using three pre-cooked slider patties and an array of ingredients. After deciding on the perfect combination of ingredients, you’ll remake your best burger to present to the judges.
8 p.m. – Judging
A panel of three judges, including Joy Burger Bar’s head chef and owner, will determine the winner.
8:15 p.m. – A Champion is Crowned
Toast the winner with a complimentary beer or glass of wine. The winner will be photographed and their burger will be Joy’s Burger of the Month for the month following the contest. The winner will also receive 20% off unlimited meals for up to five people for the month that their burger is featured. Regardless of who wins, all participants receive a voucher for a complimentary burger.
