What You'll Get
Listening to jazz and drinking wine have become some of man's top recreational activities, just after contemplating infinity and napping in the fridge. Let smooth trombones and trumpets entertain you with today's Groupon: for $60, you get admission to a Tasting Showcase (a $75 value) and a Jazz Brunch (a $45 value) at euphoria, a four-day festival in Greenville, South Carolina, highlighting the culinary and art communities (a $120 total value). The Tasting Showcase takes place on Saturday, September 24, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the Jazz Brunch takes place on Sunday, September 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both events are outdoors by South Main Street and West Broad Street in downtown Greenville.
Called the No. 1 reason to visit Greenville by the Huffington Post, euphoria showcases the culinary and artistic heritage of singer-songwriter Edwin McCain and local restaurateur Carl Sobocinski during a long weekend filled with wine, music, and food in Greenville’s vibrant downtown. At the 2011 Tasting Showcase, an assembly of experienced chefs and skilled sommeliers educates the public during live culinary demonstrations and potato-based theater while epicures sample gourmet eats and sip on a plethora of beverages, including beers from a variety of breweries, and wine from more than 50 different grape purveyors. Later, trumpeter and composer Mark Rapp and Jazz Journalists’ Association “Trombonist of the Year” Wycliffe Gordon join the Clemson University Gospel Choir at the 2011 Jazz Brunch, which evokes the Louisiana bayou with food from over 20 local restaurants. Proceeds from the highly anticipated festival benefit local nonprofit organizations.
