Evening with the Classics
The Event: Two award-winning classical musicians who were raised in Hermiston return to their hometown for a special, intimate performance.
Kelly Kuo: Hailed as “a leader of exceptional musical gifts, who has a clear technique on the podium and an impressive rapport with audiences” by the Cincinnati Enquirer, Kelly serves as the Artistic Director of Oregon Mozart Players and Conductor of the Butler Opera Center at The University of Texas at Austin. And he’s pretty good with the keyboard, too. Recently he’s been praised for his rendition of Bach’s Fifth Brandenburg Concerto and his collaboration with the Lexington Philharmonic for their performance of The Four Seasons.
Ron Blessinger: After leaving Hermiston, violinist Ron Blessinger earned a master’s degree at New England Conservatory and found a spot in the Oregon Symphony in 1990. Just a few years later he eliminated all of his free time by taking on a position as the Artistic Director of the Third Angle Ensemble.
