FaerieCon 2019
For over a decade, revelers, families, and lovers of music, arts, faerie, and fantasy gather annually to “experience the magic of the realm.” From November 1-3, FaerieCon celebrates its 13th anniversary in Baltimore with three full days devoted to the magical life.
This family-friendly event appeals to all ages and brings together faerie fanatics, artists, authors, and music acts from around the globe for a weekend of storytelling, art, live music, dancing, costumes, fashion shows, and shopping. Attendees shed their inhibitions to dance, commune, meet with faerie and fantasy artists, and find new friends during the three-day celebration.
- Guests of honor: Best-selling authors Wendy Froud, J.M. Lee, and Terryl Whitlatch and world-renowned faerie/fantasy artists Wendy and Iris Compiet, Sam Guay, David Thorn Wenzel, Sam Flegal, Aiysha Sinclair, Maxence Des Oiseaux, and more
- Faerie Marketplace: The festival includes over 70 arts and crafts vendors selling faerie books, art, jewelry, clothing, and more. Fans can also have their books signed by faerie and fantasy artists and bestselling authors.
- The Good Faeries Ball: unfolds on Friday night and features the folk-punk band Frenchy and The Punk and Seattle’s Abney Park, the world-famous steampunk group
- The Bad Faeries Ball: on Saturday night features the return of France’s electric hurdy gurdy master Guilhem Desq with Germany’s platinum-selling FAUN—a modern day take on medieval instrumentals and folk-like melodies
- Acoustic concert: on Sunday night showcases an immersive performance by Woodland Strings—often considered to be the musical ambassadors to the real of Faerie - and Masquerade musicians
