When: Saturday, July 13. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m
Flam Chen’s Caribbean Technology gathers stilt dancers, fire throwers, and acrobats into a dazzling, otherworldly dance, heightened by the shadowy vaults of Arcosanti. Richard Noel’s hypnotic “Sticks and Fingers” accompanies the spectacle, drawing from roots set in his native Trinidad and Tobago with steel drums and Caribbean electronica. But before the first torches ignite and beats build, African drum group Planet Djembe and dance company Mamaxe Dance Collective heat up the space—a more fitting opening to Caribbean Technology than showing dolphins program computers.
