For All That
Sometimes the stakes can’t get any higher. Playwright Alan Bryce, who also serves as Centerstage! Theatre’s director, proves just that with his new musical, which follows the travails of two Scottish brothers in love with the same woman during World War I. Enhancing the tale: traditional Scottish music that weaves through themes of romance, tragedy, and the resilience of the human spirit.
Centerstage! Theatre is one of Puget Sound's longest-lived theatre companies, with a mission of bringing a variety of popular shows to the region. Decades after they were founded, their artistic ensemble keeps that mission in mind while staging a repertoire of new works. Family-friendly shows such as Shipwrecked!, powerfully-emotional productions including For All That, and tinsel-coated traditional English Christmas pantomimes take the boards at the intimate Knutzen Family Theater. That focus on feel-good entertainment has won Centerstage audiences and acclaim—several shows have proven popular enough to be transported to bigger venues such as Seattle's ACT Theatre and Tacoma's Broadway Center. And Centerstage has also been nominated for and received many awards, including Best Actress, Best Director and Best New Play.
