The 45th holiday spectacular features energetic young Sacramento entertainers ages 5–18 as they dazzle audiences with songs and dances in stunning colorful costumes celebrating the joy of the holiday season. Authentic international folk dances from around the world, amazing lifts, clogging, and singing with impressive staging and creative effects will make audiences gasp with delight and get them into the holiday spirit.
Galena Street East
In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, "California's performing arts community thrives because of dedicated groups like [Galena Street East], who give our youth the opportunity to express themselves through dance and music." When artistic and musical directors Richard and Jeri Clinger founded their company in 1972, they never would have expected praise from the Governator, nor to become Sacramento's ambassadors of dance. Yet it's their talent for finding and nurturing young talent that has made Galena Street East a vital part of the city's creative community. With help from acclaimed choreographer Ron Cisneros—who has worked with artists including Lucille Ball and helped Elvis to artistically swivel his hips—the duo has fostered the talent of such groups as an international children's chorus, their East Street Gang of doo-wop singers, and their Appalachian folk dance troupe, the East Street Cloggers.
