Gerald Albright

Since his 1987 debut, saxophonist and all-around multi-instrumentalist Gerald Albright has churned out smooth tunes with some of pop music’s biggest stars. The Temptations, Olivia Newton-John, Ray Parker Jr., Whitney Houston, and Anita Baker all employed his polished sound, and on the Jazz Explosion tours he teamed up with musicians including Hugh Masekela and Chaka Khan. Even Bill Clinton has given him his seal of approval—at his inauguration, Albright played in the first presidential saxophone ensemble since the one John Adams paid to lull him to sleep. In recent years, Albright has been hitting the studio again, notably with George Duke on 2010’s Grammy-nominated Pushing the Envelope and Norman Brown on last year’s 24/7.<p>

####Norman Brown With each concert, Grammy-winning smooth-jazz guitarist Norman Brown forges a fresh connection with his fans via an easy smile and mellow, slide-heavy guitar style. Brown conjures steamy passion with R&B melodies and ardent love with sweeping ballads, all with enough rock spirit to avoid the charge of sappiness. []( even notes that he "adds zest to even the most typical groove with a lightning fast style that jumps off the disc." In tracks such as "Let's Come Together," Brown's guitar bubbles up, pops, and cascades into a river of cool funk.

####Alex Bugnon Swiss-born ivory-tickler Alex Bugnon studied at the Paris Conservatory and the Mozart Academy before moving stateside to attend the Berklee School of Music at age 19. As a session musician in New York, Bugnon backed the likes of Patti Austin, Freddy Jackson, and Keith Sweat before releasing his debut album Love Season in 1989. Since then a steady stream of charting hits such as "Love Season" and his trusty inflatable piano kept the keyboardist afloat through the 1990s. Enlivening old traditions with his contemporary sound, Bugnon’s latest release includes covers of tunes by the likes of Herbie Hancock.
