What You’ll Do

Learning to make glass art over a searing flame isn’t exactly a simple in-home endeavor. Fortunately, GlassRoots artists will demonstrate the joys of glassmaking in a far safer environment. This lesson is capped at only five students, which allows everyone to receive plenty of personalized attention as they make their own custom glass beads or sculpture.

  • Transform Molten Glass
During the workshop, you’ll use glass rods to create your own beads or small sculpture.

  • Take Home Your Creation
Your work of art will need time to cool; you’ll be able to pick it up at a later date.

About the Business

GlassRoots Studio GlassRoots Studio
Glass-Art Nonprofit

GlassRoots is an art studio with a mission. The nonprofit introduces underserved youth to the joys of glassmaking. Over the years, they’ve taught more than 15,000 students to create their own glass artwork. But their reach is not limited to just children, or even to adult students. In 2010, they designed the official New Jersey ornament for the White House Christmas tree, and their creations have been presented to luminaries such as First Lady Michelle Obama, business magnate Warren Buffet, and Senator Cory Booker.
