Football is a team sport, of course, but the fun of the 2015 Jayhawks has been in the spectacular talent of its individual playmakers. Take running back Ke’aun Kinner. He torched South Dakota State for 157 yards in the season opener, then went on to post 113 yards and a score against Memphis the following week. On the other side of the ball, safety Fish Smithson played the best football of his career in the game against Memphis, with a performance that included 12 tackles and a forced fumble that made his opponent wish he’d zipped up his backpack before storing the ball. During this match against Baylor, Kinner, Smithson, and the rest of the Kansas squad hope to turn their strong contributions into a team victory worthy of the rollicking crowd at Memorial Stadium.
