2013 Grand National Rodeo
Every year for the past 67 years, the best cowboys, cowgirls, and livestock in the Western United States have come together to compete at the Grand National Rodeo. They gather for the cash prizes, certainly, but more importantly, in pursuit of coveted Grand National Champion awards. This year, more than 600 competitors from seven different states descend upon Cow Palace to continue the tradition and trade spur-sharpening tips.
Spread across four days in October, the 2013 Grand National Rodeo showcases the spirit of the Old West with competitors clashing in classic rodeo challenges. Riders hope to last eight seconds atop bucking bulls and will dart around obstacles during barrel races. With plumes of dust rising skyward from the ring, fans posted up in dress circle seats can marvel in amazement before taking a breather to shop at the event’s market place, dance at the saloon, and chow down on award-winning barbecue.<p>
