The Scouting Report
Just 18 games into the 2013–14 OHL season and the Guelph Storm are already playing like league champions. They've scored 95 goals while only allowing 52. They lead the OHL with 30 points and only three losses. And they have two of the league's top-five scorers, left-winger Brock McGinn and right-winger Scott Kosmachuk. During this match on December 15, the Storm face off against Midwest Division rivals the Erie Otters, who—with 27 points in 17 games—are Guelph's closest competition for the division title.
Since first making landfall on the ice in 1991, the Guelph Storm have made four appearances in the Memorial Cup, the round-robin tournament for the most sought-after trophy in the Canadian Hockey League. During home games, the team takes shelter in the Sleeman Centre, a 4,500-seat arena that features such amenities as a full-service restaurant.
