Show was good, food was marginal. Don't expect anything gourmet.

Be prepared to participate. Almost everyone there got to play a part in the show. Don't worry if you are shy, though. They are great at reading people. Everyone there was having a great time.

Vaudeville Cafe hosts a regular and rotating influx of top-level comedians featured on the Tonight Show, Comedy Central, and HBO. On Friday and Saturday evenings, guests can sidle down for side-splitting sets from upcoming comics such as the wincingly honest and charmingly crass Mike Stanley (September 14–15), who’s opened for indie-comedy titan Dave Attell and was voted best standup comedian of 2008 by the readers of the Chicago Reader. Dave Waite (September 21–22), winner of 2012’s cutthroat Laughing Skull Comedy Festival in Atlanta and recently seen on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, beguiles audiences with his dark take on dating, his endearingly weird catchphrases, and his resemblance to a blissful Stanley Kubrick. The 2011 Laughing Skull champion, Sam Morril (September 28–29), flaunts the wry delivery and writing skills that prompted the New York Daily News to declare him one of the “funniest people in NYC,” and Matt Golightly (October 5–6) plays upon his own squareness in a clean, angst-free set about pop culture, politics, and romance. In between chuckle fits, guests can take bites of chips and salsa, buffalo chips, or curly fries and loosen funny bones with sudsy brews, wines, or frozen libations (drinks not included with this deal).
