The Harris Theater joins forces with Chicago’s emerging, midsize performing-arts organizations, simultaneously fostering musical growth throughout the city and dazzling audiences with crisply orchestrated concerts. Kicking off its residency at Harris Theater on January 27, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center provides respite from blustery winds and panhandling snowmen by treating audiences to fiery renditions of Beethoven, Bruch, and Brahms works. In March, masters of the piano Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Anne-Marie McDermott, Andre-Michel Schub, and Wu Han tickle the ivories and listeners’ ears while inspiring them to finally scale a mountain or throw out the bait that’s been sitting in the refrigerator forever. Finally, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center concludes its inaugural Chicago-based series in May with a musical fireworks display, which features a medley of guests including pianists Inon Barnatan and Juho Pohjonen, violist Beth Guterman, and a masterful trio of violinists.
