Five-time Tony-nominated musical Rock of Ages floods the Sunset Strip of 1987 with true love, embarking on a headbanging journey that the New York Times called, “a seriously silly, absurdly enjoyable arena-rock” ride. Sherrie Christian is a small-town girl who traveled to Hollywood to make it big as an actress, but when she meets South Detroit native Drew Boley she falls for his free-spirited love of rock ‘n’ roll. Singing the songs of Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, and more than a dozen other majestically coiffed rock idols, Drew and Sherrie chase their dreams down a path riddled with sex, drugs, and German real-estate developers. The latter are threatening to tear down the Strip's booming sleaze factories to build something more family friendly.

When Drew hears about the plan to transform his home turf into squaresville, he conjures a way to save their imperiled club: get bleach-banged rock icon Stacee Jaxx and his band, Arsenal, to play their last-ever show there. Jaxx agrees to the plan, but the pampered star soon shows Sherrie that not all rockers are as gentlemanly as Drew. As the action ramps up, the actors' lungs inflate for more than 25 '80s hits such as “Can't Fight This Feeling,” “Any Way You Want It,” “Don't Stop Believin',” and “Hit Me With Your Best Shot.”
