Although today’s rappers expect luxuries such as autotune and personal jets, the original MCs remember the days of rapping two miles uphill in the snow just to get to old school. Get an education from the masters with today’s GrouponLive deal to see the All-Stars of Hip Hop, featuring Rakim, Doug E. Fresh, and Rob Base, at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Sunday, January 15, at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Choose between the following seating options:

  • For $37, you get one lower-level G-Pass for seating in section 107, 108, 118, or 119 (up to a $75.60 value, including all fees).
  • For $45, you get one floor-level G-Pass for seating in the first 10 rows of section 4 or 6 (up to a $90.85 value, including all fees).<p>

Because the ticket is a G-Pass, Groupon customers can use it to enter the venue directly; they will not need to redeem their Groupon at will call.

Eight of the most influential rap legends of the 1980s take the mic for a thumping celebration of foundational beats and timeless verses on the All-Stars of Hip Hop tour. Walking rhyming dictionaries including Rakim and Rob Base of “It Takes Two” fame share their dowry of hits, and Doug E. Fresh makes drum machines rend their circuits in dismay with his human beatbox skills. The duo of EPMD plays tug of war with tight couplets on the much-lauded “Strictly Business,” and Slick Rick raps nostalgic in his signature eye patch.

Putting the icing on the whoopee pie, Kid N Play evokes the heyday of “House Party” with its trademark chemistry. Whodini further fuels Cabbage Patch competitions with hits such as “The Freaks Come Out at Night,” and Big Daddy Kane spouts the brawny verbal dexterity that necessitated the 1988 expansion of the English alphabet.
