Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol

In Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, the ghost of Jacob Marley shows up in the bedchamber of his former partner Ebenezer Scrooge, warning him of visits from three holiday spirits who hope to change the old miser’s ways. But what if Marley’s journey didn’t end there? That’s the concept of Tom Mula’s unexpected holiday tale, Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol, which tells Marley’s side of the story. Unraveling the mystery behind what prompted the chained specter’s visit in the first place (hint: he was assigned), the play gives one of A Christmas Carol’s most unpleasant figures a chance to save not only Scrooge’s soul, but his own.
